Adsense gets more rules, no adsense below menus

Inside Adsense Blog [1] have come up with a new post which tells adsense publishsers to avoid encouraging users from clicking on adsense ads.

The new guidelines state that you cannot place ads in

- Close proximity of Macromedia Flash Games
- Under pop-ups or download prompts
- Near site navigation controls on your page, such as drop downs or menu links

The third one is interestingly seen on many a blogs, and I do agree they tend to confuse the readers as to being links from within the sites. But these are tricks of the trade and allow publishers to earn more, nonetheless it is unwise to ignore guidelines from the Adsense team as it may have serious implications as such, which may also end up you getting banned from adsense.

This is another one after they strictly asked publishers not to place ads next to images.

For me Adsense has been the biggest revenue earner yet so I would not be too keen to take the risk, but there are many other ways in which you can blend in Adsense ads into your site to make more money. Google has just taken out one for now, don’t know how many more they will detect in future.

Let me know how much you would counter such changes through your comments.
